To capture beauty in all its forms...
The human eye is limited. It is always drawn to the subject. The eye does not have the means to see the in-between world at the edges that the imagination prefers to see. Imagination is always drawn to the unknown because it understands that this is where the mysterious beauty of the visible world and the invisible world merge. This place is infused with spirit and presence. Here the imagination sees all the possibilities that the linear mind cannot see. The richness of that which we experience and the depth of who we are as individuals depends upon the expanse of what we can imagine. When our imagination is awakened, our entire experience deepens. Imagination is vital to our souls.
I have always enjoyed manipulating the emulsion of film, thereby altering the perception of reality. My body of work explores similar effects with the use of digital darkroom techniques. The resulting image is not only a reflection of reality, but also a rendering of the imagination.
