My Life in a Yellow Submarine is a metaphor for exploring the singing reaches of the soul wherein secret kinds of happiness touches the heart. The text includes snippets from my diary, a correspondence from a friend, and fragments from favorite poets, writers, sages - all woven into the fabric of the story. The story begins with a bout of insomnia from an intensely bright full moon. The full moon symbolizes clarity, fullness and obtainment of desire. The artist makes use of the moonlight to work on her journal. She begins to consider lines, and in particular, the bending of them. Circles, the sacred symbol of unity, wholeness and feminine power, is a recurring theme in this journal. The crescent moon, a symbol of the aging goddess. Light, floating, and music are playfully woven into the story. Some images are slightly blurred and dreamlike, as if under water. The reader travels to each vignette via a porthole. The end of the story leads the reader back to the beginning to continue the circle.
